A vertical garden does what no planter can. It fills a lobby, a dining room, or a great room with a solid surface of living green that people stop and photograph. Unity Indoor Plant Services designs, builds, plants, and maintains living walls across the Phoenix metro and northern Arizona, and we craft preserved moss walls for spaces that want the look with none of the upkeep. From a single accent panel to a two story installation, we handle every detail.

Every living wall starts with a site visit. We measure the wall, check the light it receives through the day, locate water and power, and talk through the look you want, whether that is a dense tropical jungle, a clean grid of a single species, or a flowing pattern of color and texture. From there we draw a planting plan and a plant list you can approve before anything is ordered.
The wall itself is built on a modular panel system with a waterproof backing that protects your drywall or masonry. Each panel holds its own growing medium and is fed by a low flow drip line on a timer, so the plants get exactly the water they need and nothing drips on the floor. Where daylight is limited we add slim LED grow fixtures that are tuned for foliage and blend into the ceiling.
Plant selection is where 15 years of experience pays off. Arizona interiors are dry and heavily air conditioned, so we lean on species that stay full under those conditions: pothos, philodendron, ferns, peperomia, spathiphyllum, and a range of bromeliads and anthuriums for color. Every plant is installed by hand, and the wall is fully grown in on day one rather than filling in over months.
After installation, our technicians visit on a schedule to prune, feed, check the irrigation, and replace any plant that is not performing. Living walls on a Unity maintenance plan are guaranteed. We build and care for walls in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Prescott, and Prescott Valley, for homeowners, designers, general contractors, restaurants, medical groups, and hospitality brands.
A green wall is the most efficient way to bring a large amount of plant life into a room without giving up floor space. In a restaurant that means more tables. In an office it means a lobby that photographs well for recruiting and a backdrop that shows up in every video call. In a home it means a focal point that changes with the seasons and the light.
There are practical gains as well. A dense wall of foliage releases moisture into dry desert air, takes the hard echo out of rooms with tile floors and glass walls, and gives people a reason to look up from their screens. Studies on biophilic design consistently link visible greenery with lower stress and better focus, which is why hospitals, schools, and tech offices have embraced vertical gardens.
Preserved moss walls bring most of those benefits with zero maintenance. Real moss is harvested and stabilized so it keeps its color and softness for years without water or light. It absorbs sound even better than living foliage, works in windowless rooms, and can be cut into logos, wordmarks, and custom shapes, which makes it a favorite for reception areas and conference rooms.
Send us a photo and rough dimensions and we will come back with a concept, a plant palette, and a clear price for design, installation, and ongoing care.
Whether you want a thriving vertical garden with irrigation and lighting or a preserved moss feature that never needs a drop of water, we manage the project from first sketch to final walkthrough. Here is how the work breaks down:
Site survey, planting plan, modular panel system, drip irrigation, grow lighting, and hand planting. Sized for anything from a 4 by 6 accent to a full atrium wall.
Sheet moss, mood moss, and reindeer moss in natural greens or custom tones, mounted on framed panels. Add a logo, lettering, or wood and metal accents. No water, light, or upkeep.
Scheduled visits for pruning, feeding, irrigation checks, pest control, and plant replacement. We also take over care of existing walls installed by others.
Choose a living wall when you have access to water and either daylight or the ceiling room for grow lights, and when you want the wall to feel alive: leaves that move, new growth, seasonal color. Living walls suit lobbies, restaurants, atriums, and great rooms, and they reward the monthly care that keeps them full.
Choose a moss wall when the space has no natural light, when plumbing is not practical, when you need sound absorption, or when you want a logo or graphic built into the design. Moss walls are ideal for conference rooms, hallways, treatment rooms, elevator lobbies, and home offices. Not sure? Many clients do both: a living wall in the main space and moss accents in the rooms around it.

A living wall is only as good as the people who plant it and the people who come back to care for it. We do both, which means the wall you approve on paper is the wall you still have three years later.
Our plant palettes and irrigation settings are tuned for dry, air conditioned rooms and strong desert light, not copied from a coastal catalog.
Design, framing, irrigation, lighting, planting, and maintenance are all handled by Unity. No subcontractors to chase and one number to call.
Every plant in a wall on our maintenance plan is guaranteed. If one fades, we replace it on the next visit at no charge. Educators and first responders save 15 percent.

Pricing depends on square footage, plant density, whether irrigation and grow lighting are needed, and access to the wall. Small residential accent walls start in the low thousands, while large commercial installations are quoted per project. Preserved moss walls are typically priced per square foot and cost less over time because they need no maintenance. Every quote we send is itemized so you can see design, materials, installation, and care separately.
Most of our commercial walls connect to a nearby water line with a timer controlled drip system and a small catch trough at the base, so no drain is required. For homes or spaces without plumbing access we offer recirculating systems with a hidden reservoir that our technicians refill during visits. We will tell you which option fits during the site survey.
No. The panel system mounts to a waterproof backer board that sits off the finished wall, so moisture never touches drywall or paint, and the whole assembly can be removed later. Because the plants are inspected on every maintenance visit and the growing medium is soil free, pest problems are rare and caught early when they do occur.
Yes, it is real moss that has been harvested and preserved with a glycerin based process that keeps it soft and green without water or light. Kept indoors out of direct sun and away from high humidity, a moss wall holds its color for eight to ten years or more. It needs no watering, misting, or trimming, just an occasional dusting with a soft brush or low air.
A typical residential living wall installs in one to two days once plants arrive, usually three to four weeks after design approval. Large commercial walls are scheduled in phases and often installed after hours. Moss walls are fabricated in advance and hang in a few hours. We serve the Phoenix metro including Scottsdale and Cave Creek, plus Prescott and Prescott Valley in northern Arizona.
